 Free merch and design…are you guys serious? Yes, yes we are. Rock the Merch exists for one reason only, to give away free merch and design. Last time I got something for free I ended up with herpes. What’s the catch? Free merch. No catch. Just sign-up for one of our bi-monthly contests and get as many votes as possible. That’s it. Those with the most votes wins. We accept independent musicians, bands, record labels and anyone else that produces righteous jams. Simple. Just cut and paste your banner code (provided at signup) in whatever online medium you want (MySpace, blog, etc.) and when people click it, you get a vote. What does each giveaway include? Each giveaway includes free merch design and silk-screened shirts, however the details for each package will vary with every contest. Check the Rock The Merch homepage for the current week’s giveaway details. If we already have a design and we win can we use that instead? Less work for us! Of course you can. When do contests start and end? We hold one contest per month, 1st of the month to the last day of the month. How many times can someone vote? Each person (or computer, rather) is allowed to vote once; this is to ensure that voting remains fair. Can we attempt at winning in more than one contest? Yes! You can participate in as many contests as long as you would like. Once you win once though that's the end of the line. We've got to let others have a chance too! This also ensures that a very popular band doesn't exploit their status of being big and win multiple times because of it. What is the best way to generate votes? We’ve found that the most effective way to earn votes is by posting your voting banner (provided by us) on your MySpace page, PureVolume, website, blog, or any other online medium you have access to. This banner will automatically direct users to your Rock the Merch voting page. Simply put, the more eyes that see your banner, the more votes you’ll generate. AIM, Youtube, emails and message boards is another way to pimp out your link. There’s this old archaic way of communication through verbal language, it’s called “speaking”…that could potentially work too, though it’s not proven. If we win, how long will it take to get our merch? We will contact you regarding the details for your custom merch package immediately after the contest ends. Once the details are finalized, allow anywhere from 2-4 weeks for design creation, merch production and delivery. So if you guys were hoping to get the merch two days after you win for an out of town show you’re going to be out of luck. You’ll have to go back to selling Chiclets to pay for your gas. Once we have the merch can we do what we want with it? Are we supposed to give it away? Nope, you guys are welcome to do what you want with it. Give it away, sell it at shows, set it on fire, make love to it, etc. Can we set-up our next design/merch project with you? What a silly question, of course you can.
